Happy DAD'S Day
I recently watched the movie “Daddy’s Home” with Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg. Now I’m not a huge fan of Will Ferrell, but I actually really like this movie. The movie starts off with a quote that stuck with me, especially with Father’s Day coming up. Will Ferrell says,
“Here’s a question for you. What do kids need more? A father or a dad? What’s the difference? The way I see it, darn near anyone can be a father, but not everyone has the patience or the devotion to be a dad.”
This made me think about all the father figures in my life and how they are not only father’s but dad’s. They all truly expressed the patience and devotion needed for their families.
Kids need a dad that will always be there for them, a dad that they can count on. A dad that will take the time to help them with homework or teach them to play baseball.
My husband has been a great dad to our daughter. He’s a very hands-on dad that likes to be involved in every milestone in her life. He’s that way because of his dad. Who wasn’t just a father to him, but the best example of a dad anyone could have.
Father’s Day should really be called Dad’s Day. It’s the dads that deserve the love and celebration because they devote their lives to always being there. They are the superstars that make the time for their families. I completely agree with Will Ferrell, anyone can be a father, but not everyone can be a dad.
So Happy Dad's Day to all the dads out there. You deserve this day!
